Seth "Porter" Winterton

Program Director

Porter’s journey in music began at age 14, inspired by a diverse variety of artists, including Eminem, Blink-182, Green Day, MGK, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Tupac, and John Mayer. Over the years, he has expanded his craft across multiple genres, becoming obsessed with the art of songwriting and music production.

Recognizing the vast knowledge and resource gap for aspiring artists, Porter became passionate about reshaping music education. He believes that traditional approaches are outdated and fail to provide young musicians with the tools to succeed in today’s industry. This realization led him to create the Inspiring Artists Program in Las Vegas, dedicated to equipping youth with the resources, mentorship, and knowledge necessary to pursue their dreams. More importantly, many kids miss out on the deep mental and emotional benefits of original music and expressing themselves. The artists who have inspired Porter come from a wide range of genres, reflecting his belief that great music transcends labels and that true creativity comes from embracing multiple influences.

Currently, Porter is a student at UNLV, studying music technology, psychology, and philosophy. As an alumni of the Inspiring Children Foundation, he has firsthand experience with its revolutionary approach to mental, physical, and emotional health. In addition to his work with Inspiring Children, he collaborates closely with Guitars Over Guns and the Playing for Change Foundation, integrating the knowledge and principles from all three organizations to empower and mentor young artists.

Beyond education and mentorship, Porter is an active singer, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur, writing and producing for various artists as well as himself. His goal is to be an innovator, philosopher, and pioneer in the music industry, specifically in the healing and mental health space. Through his career as an artist, producer, mentor, and entrepreneur, he is pursuing a visionary mission to reshape the music education and use creativity as a force for healing and transformation.
