GUITARS OVER GUNS PRESENTS

SHINE VOL. 1

Artwork by Nilka Maisonet

We’re proud to release our first full album of music written and performed by our youth in Miami! The album ranges in musical styles and showcases the talents of Guitars Over Guns mentees aged 12 – 21 years old.

The students’ songwriting process was inspired by their lived experiences. Prominent themes in the students’ lyrics include gun violence, loss, overcoming obstacles, and following your dreams.

This project was made possible by the Al & Jane Nahmad Family Foundation.
